Politically Correct Language

People in the world speak different languages, but the political correctness is one of the important factors while speaking. Language is a powerful tool to communicate, but it sometimes can hurt the speaker if we don’t use it right. Yes, political correctness affected the way people communicate in positive manner. People are required to use more abstract word when communicating. Politically correct language can be considered as speech communication codes by which we are bounded. It is the rules of language how we talk to minimize offence to the race, gender, religion, socio-economic class, ethnicity, sexuality, disabled, and age.  Politically incorrect words are referred to the language codes that can be offensive to the minorities.  The important benefit of using politically correct language is not to offend and exclude others.
I also use some political incorrectness language codes when I speak. One of among them is the use of “men” either writing in the article or when I communicate. It is considered politically incorrect language. Your dialects are a series of languages pushing back and forth.  Language changes the way we think. For instance, it is politically correct to use the word ‘server’ instead of saying ‘waiter’ which is politically incorrect. Similarly, politically correct language is the use of words which is unbiased such as actor, flight attendant etc. How do people react when you use these words? Try for it.
The use of politically incorrect languages creates a conflict. We have seen a lot of program on Television and in News paper about Politically incorrect language.  Politically correct language gives an idea to an individual to think before speaking so that the speaker do not use offensive words that hurt the audience. According to Katherine Schulten, in the article titled, “What is your reaction to the Rugh Limbough controversy?”  Rush Limbough apologizes for the attack on student about birth control as he used the word “prostitute” and “slut” about Sandra Fluke. It was considered a political attack.
There is a well known proverb in Nepal “the tongue does not have the edges, but it can hurt the heart.” It is true and it makes sense that why we are supposed to use politically correct language. A single word can hurt the listener. In political sector, a lot of politician gets blamed because of not using the political correct languages while in a mass communication. Each and Every profession is linked with using political correct language. Student, teacher, employee, politician have to speak using correct political language in order to make sure that no one gets hurt by the word used by speaker.
Every people in the society are equal, so they should be treated equally. To maintain the concept of equality in the community, the use of the political correct language is very important. It helps in minimizing discrimination, insult; nevertheless, it is good concept to respect the identity of a person. Political correct language helps to stop the openly prejudge (as well as racism) among people. People have a right to speak and use words as long as they do not harm anybody.
In conclusion, political correct language codes are very important to make a tolerant society and equality among the people. It is a code of language that would not cause an individual of minority or it s group to feel offended. We talk about people in society while we speak, so it is very important that the people should not be excluded, offended and diminished. Since we live in society and talk about them while we speak, political correctness affected the way people communicate.
